METRO ARCHIVES PROJECT
Let’s Work Together
We have created a community archive to make available images, memorabilia, films, scripts, documents and posters from the London metropolitan area, starting with southwest London.
Our aim is to collect and digitize material which is in danger of being lost due to the aging and passing of the baby boom generation. We began this process of conservation when we digitized two photo archives as part of our Eelpiland project in 2013 (see www.eelpieisland.net). That project inspired participants to set up the Eel Pie Island Museum in Twickenham which you can now visit.

Our initial focus was on the music heritage of the local area but as we researched local history we found there were other important areas too, such as film, literature, sport and nature conservation.
You can visit our website at www.metroarchives.org and discover some fascinating content about our local area. If you have some photos, videos, posters, documents or other material which you'd like to donate to us for the archive please contact us at: aurorametroartsmedia@gmail.com
If you are a photographer with a large portfolio or you handle the estate of someone with a large collection, we can also include material which can be licensed for commercial use.

If you have physical objects of historical importance which you'd like to donate, please get in touch to discuss this. To volunteer for the project just drop us an email and let us know your availability.

We are grateful to heritage lottery fund for their
financial support of this project.
